Future Developments

It is important to note that Mint had never undergone so much of R&D at field level as India had done during the past 15 yrs. and looking to on-going R&D Projects, It will be difficult for Mint to leave India at least for next 50 yrs. The R&D Projects at India's Premium institute CIMAP (Central Institute Of Medicinal & A Romatic Plant), with a close association with t he trade & commerce, several of high yield varieties have already been developed. The Famous varieties are mas-1 , whic was a variety of higher Menthol level. The current variety Shivalik and Kosi are doing very well at both Traditional and Non-traditional Mind growing area. The following Varieties of Mint will be introduce during the Net 5 yrs Time:

Future Crops
1. Saksham : The Saksham Has Made Available to farmers in 2003 for furthur multipication expected to have commercialisation by 2003.

2. Kushal : The Kushal Has Made Available to farmers in 2003 for furthur multipication expected to have commercialisation by 2003.

3. Sambhav : Still in the lab, take another 3 yrs for farmers to start its multipications.

4. Damroo : Still in the lab, take another 3 yrs for farmers to start its multipications.
