By 1966, India Was A Net Importer Of Menthol And This Was Continued Until 1986.So, Green Revolution Started In Rampur With Mint Plantation And Every Year Plantation Area Was On Increase With More And More Farmers Started To Adopt This New Wonder Crop.

In 1966, A Multi-National Company From U.S.A. Built-Up A Large Mint Crop Distillation Facility At Bilaspur (U.P.), India Where Farmers Were Bring Their Mint Crop By Various Means Of Transport From All Over Rampur For Distillation. Once Crop Is Distilled, Oil Is Obtained, Farmers Were Paid For The Oil So Produced.

Later, During The Year 1970, One Indian Small Company Has Started Mint Crop Distillation At Sambhal. By The Year 1973, More And More Small
Distillation Facility Have Started Operation In Entire Mint Growing Area In Rampur, Sambhal And Chandausi. Simultaneously, Indian Companies
Have Started Their Initial Involvement With Manufacturing Of Menthol And
Peppermint Oils.

BRAZIL
After The 2nd World War, Some Of The Japanese Manufacturers Shifted Their Manufacturing Operations From Japan To Brazil, South America.in 1987 India became an exporter of Menthol & now holding approx. 70% of world Menthol Markets. Brazil, The Mint Was Available In Dense Forest Where It Was Grown Wildly. So It Was Harvested And Left The Field As It Is And Then It Again Grows. So Brazil Became One Of The Main Source For Menthol In The World.
